Elliott met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on Tuesday regarding an incident in Las Vegas in which the running back nudged a security officer. The NFL later announced that Commissioner Goodell determined that Elliott did not violate the personal conduct policy.
The League’s statement in full: Immediately following reports of an incident in Las Vegas in May involving Ezekiel Elliott of the Dallas Cowboys, the NFL conducted a comprehensive investigation that included interviews with multiple witnesses, including security personnel and others with direct involvement, as well as a review of documentary and other information.
On Tuesday, as part of the review, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell met with Mr. Elliott to reinforce the standards of conduct expected of him and the consequences for failing to meet those standards.
Mr. Elliott acknowledged that he demonstrated poor judgment and committed to make better choices in the future. He volunteered to take advantage of the resources available to help him continue to grow personally.
Commissioner Goodell determined there was no violation of the personal conduct policy and no further action is warranted.
Looks like Zeke’s annual meeting with the Commish went better than last year. If you forgot, this is what led to this years meeting:
A lot of “sources” saying a 1-3 game suspension was coming down. I could have seen it based off the past but it’s good to see the NFL not make this into a bigger deal than it needed to be. Being suspended back to back years even though technically never charged with a crime in either incident would have been some bullshit. But at the end of the day, Zeke seems to perpetually put himself in these positions. Dude you are getting paid millions of dollars and up for a contract extension. You’re career span to make this money is like 5-8 years, so maybe consider stop moonlighting as a Diplo groupie or at minimum mix in a water when you do.
