clutchpoints.com: After punishing Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, the NBA also fined the Houston Rockets for the comments made by Tilman Fertitta on Russell Westbrook before the trade was made official.
According to Marc Stein of The New York Times, the Rockets were fined $25,000.
Fertitta apparently made a public statement about Russell Westbrook short of the official completion of the transaction between Houston and the Oklahoma City Thunder
Fertitta also commented on Chris Paul’s departure, saying they we wouldn’t have accomplished two consecutive 50-plus win seasons without the help of the All-Star and future Hall of Famer.
First, Cuban. Now, Titta! Adam Silver is not fucking around! Guy hates leakers. Just won’t stand for it! Cuban, he leaked in private but Titta? He did it in public! Badass. That’s a guy who knows he’s about to win a championship with Harden, Russ and Bennett.
By the way, who wouldn’t want to leak information? If anyone cared about anything I knew, I would leak. Why? The thrill. The shock value. Breaking news to a friend is the best. Can’t imagine if I had actual stuff to leak. It would be a problem.
