Jose Altuve Smashes 3-run HR for 1,500th Career Hit

Altuve’s three-run smash off Cardinals starter Dakota Hudson in the fifth today marked his 1,500th hit and also helped secure the win, putting the Stros ahead, 5-0.

According to Statcast, the ball traveled a projected 388 feet with an exit velocity of 103.9 mph. In other words, a BOMB.

Altuve now sits sixth on the Astros’ all-time hits list behind Craig Biggio (3,060), Jeff Bagwell (2,314), Jose Cruz (1,937), Cesar Cedeno (1,659) and Lance Berkman (1,648).

More importantly, after battling injuries all season, Altuve is officially back.
