Each week we look at the Top 5 Texas College Football Games on the schedule. Breaking down who will win, who will lose, but most importantly…who will COVER. Â
Odds are at the time this was posted and are subject to change.
#5
UTSA (1-0) @ Baylor (1-0)
Saturday, September 7th
3:00 pm CST – FSN
Baylor -25.5, o/u 57.5
This is simple math really. Baylor scored 56 points last week by themselves. Yes, it was against SFA but it’s not like they are moving up much in class by playing UTSA this week. Baylor and UTSA combined to put up over 1000 yards of offense in Week One. Don’t over think this, Baylor will score at least 40 again this week and do I think UTSA will score at least 18 points, yes, yes I do. While the game may not be exciting enough to watch, it will definitely still be entertaining to check your phone every 15 minutes to see Baylor continuing to put up points against a shitty UTSA defense. Take the OVER 57.5 in this game.
#4
Wake Forest (1-0) @ Rice (0-1)
Friday, September 6th
7:00 pm CST – CBSS
Wake Forest -19, o/u 59
As far as quality of games go, this one is for sure at the bottom of the barrel. But it’s a Friday night game and I love this line. Rice is bad, like really bad, possibly one of the worst teams in the country…BUT they always seem to cover. In my opinion, Rice is so unintimidating every team they play looks past them and gives the minimum amount of effort needed to win. As a result, Rice ends up covering way more games than they should. And let’s be honest, Wake Forest is not Clemson. Hell, they aren’t even Baylor. I think Rice slows this game down with a lot of running, Wake Forest plays backups earlier than they should and Rice ends up scoring late in the 4th to backdoor cover. Hold your nose, don’t stare at this game too long, and Take RICE +19

Wyoming (1-0) @ Texas State (0-1)
Saturday, September 7th
6:00 pm CST – ESPN+
Wyoming -7, o/u 47
There are a lot of good games to watch this week in college football, this probably isn’t one of them. I’m not even sure people that went to Wyoming or Texas State will want to watch this game. But while it may not be the sexiest game on the board, a win is a win and you can only watch so many of the games you bet on anyway. As you saw last week against the Aggies, Texas State is atrocious. Wyoming certainly isn’t in the same league as the Aggies but Wyoming did just beat Missouri last week by 6 as a 16-point dog, so, I’m pretty sure they can handle walking into Bobcat Stadium and cover a touchdown with ease. Take WYOMING -7 and know you can stop having to check in on this game by halftime.

Texas AM (1-0) @ Clemson (1-0)
Saturday, September 7th
3:30 pm CST – ABC
Clemson -17.5, o/u 64
Aggies playing the number one team in the country and Gameday going to Austin might be the funniest and most appropriate thing in the history of their existence. As for the game itself, Clemson didn’t win a game last year by less than 20 points when Trevor Lawrence started and finished the game. That included a 27 point playoff win and a fucking 28 point National Championship spanking over Alabama. Yes, that Alabama. So no, I don’t think Clemson will have any problems covering 17.5 points at home against those loser Aggies. I know the Aggies hung with them at Kyle field last year but this game isn’t at Kyle Field and Trevor Lawrence wasn’t the QB. Trevor Lawrence might be the best college QB we have seen in, well, forever. That’s no hyperbole. They are going to do to the Aggies what they will do to everyone else this year, win and win big. I would take the over in the game as well but the safest bet in this game is the home team. Take CLEMSON – 17.5 on Saturday and enjoy the Aggie massacre at Memorial Stadium.

LSU (1-0) @ Texas (1-0)
Saturday, September 7th
6:30 pm CST – ABC
LSU -6.5, o/u 56
They say good coaches win and great coaches cover. But the best of the best win as an outright underdog on the money line. Tom Herman is 13-2-1 ATS as an underdog with Houston and Texas, including 8-2-1 while at UT. In 13 of those covers he won the game straight up and cashed some serious money line wins along the way. This line opened with LSU -7 over the summer and plummeted to -3 before settling in at 6.5 this week. LSU has the better team from top to bottom but Texas has the better quarterback, the better coach, and will be playing in front of the loudest crowd it DKR in probably two decades, if not ever. I think this game is close all the way to the end and Dicker…the kicker becomes a legend once again by making the game-winning field goal and then spending the next 24 hours having sex with the entire sorority population on the 40 acres.
Take TEXAS +6.5. Take Texas on the money line. Take Texas in a teaser. Take Texas in a parlay.
Record Last Week: 2-3
Record for the Year: 2-3
Kids 529 Plan Game of the Week: 1-0
Remember…Life’s too short to bet the Under.
As always, good luck, bet smart, and let’s go 5-0!
Until Next Week,
