Did OU Just Land Their 2020 QB1?

Houston’s star quarterback, D’Eriq King, is apparently planning on sitting out the rest of the season and taking a redshirt year. Obviously, a pretty shocking move considering King is perfectly healthy and has played in all four of the Cougars games in 2019. However, by sitting out, King will now be able to preserve a year of eligibility by using the four-game redshirt rule that was instituted by the NCAA last year. The reports also state King could utilize the transfer portal, which would allow other coaches to openly recruit him.

In the four games this season, King has thrown for 663 yards and six touchdowns, as well as rushed for another 312 yards. Just this past week in the loss against Tulane, King broke Tim Tebow’s record by throwing and running for touchdowns in 15 consecutive games. But besides his personal records, the Houston’s game record is nothing to write home about. They’re 1-3 overall with losses to Oklahoma, Washington State and Tulane, and their lone win coming in Week 2 over Prairie View A&M.

Now, if you don’t think King is going to OU next year, well, you’re an idiot. He is sure to follow in the QB1 transfer footsteps of Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray and Jalen Hurts. Quite frankly, I think this is a HORRIBLE look for King. One that is sure to make his draft stock go down. Just qutting on your team in the middle of the season because things aren’t going well? Who does that? Losers. Thats who. He’ll make a perfect fit at OU.

Also, why would he transfer for another senior year? At this point, you might as well enter the NFL draft and hope a team with a loser mentality will draft your quitting, loser ass.

UPDATE:

Ummmm. “It’s a bunch of other guys as well.” What the hell does that mean? The entire Houston team is just gonig to quit on Coach Holgorsen because they are having a rough year? Quitter city, Population Houston Football team. Yikes.

UPDATE on the UPDATE:

What the hell is this? Both of Houston’s star players are just packing it in for the season and then coming back next year? Smells fishy to me. I don’t care what D’Eriq or Keith are saying, I will be SHOCKED if either of them are in a Houston uniform next season.
