Reddick eventually struck out at this at bat when he should have taken a free base for catcher’s interference. George Springer then walked on the next at bat, which mean Jose Altuve would would’ve been looking at a bases loaded situation with only one out. We all know what would have happened if that had been the case:
Instead, no runs were scored and the Stros end up losing Game 1 of the World Series.
So, this leads to my question, what should the ump’s punishment be for this blown call? Lock him up and throw away the key? Or maybe force him to watch Game 2 from the stands with other people who were also clearly not watching Game 1, like this kid:
Maybe spending Game 2 with a millennial playing Candy Crush will get this Umps attention and teach him a valuable lesson in OPENING HIS FUCKING EYES.
At the end of the day, did the Ump cost us Game 1? Yes. The series though? Absolutely not. Because luckily, we’ve been in this spot before:
