Yikes. The fire in the Texas Rangers new 1.1 billion stadium was reported around 2:30 p.m. this afternoon but is now believed to be contained, a team official said, but he was unsure whether there had been any injuries.
“I’m waiting for more information, but apparently it looks like it has been contained,” said John Blake, the Rangers’ executive vice president of Communications.
Video recorded inside the stadium showed construction workers watching the flames from a distance:
I just found this on Snapchat, this doesn’t look good… https://t.co/3jhzKMScYG pic.twitter.com/k0tUTVCays

With the stadium set to open for the 2020 season and still obviously being under construction, it‘s likely the fire was started due to something related to that rather than foul play.
Update: It has been confirmed there are no injuries and everyone is safe. So, if you have any good jokes, feel free to fire away!
