Paxton Anderson, the 6′ 4″, 207 pound tight end out of Highland Park, otherwise known as Jerry Jones’ grandson, announced over the weekend that he has committed to Texas. However, because he did not receive a formal offer from Texas, he’ll be coming to Austin as a preferred walk-on. Meaning he will receive no financial assistance/scholarship from Texas. Which makes you wonder, how in hell will Paxton afford the rising cost of college tuition?

Assuming Paxton can hold a summer job and pay for school next season, he did put up some decent numbers his senior season — 33 catches, 456 yards and 5 touchdowns. Could those numbers translate to the collegiate level? Maybe. But based off his current physical stature, he’s going to have to add a lot more weight before he becomes any sort of threat.

And while there are definitely worse things to be called than “Jerry Jones’ grandson”, I imagine Paxton wants to pave his own road and make a name for himself. Only way to do that, and not be referred to as Jerry Jones grandson the rest of his life, is bring Texas home a National Championship. Or have Jerry give me his yacht, which I do think would go a long way:
