Alabama To Replace Season Opener Against USC In Jerry World With TCU

Alabama vs. TCU instead of Alabama vs. USC to open the CFB Season ...

With California officially extending its “stay at home orders” for another 3 months, SEC Network’s Paul Finebaum says Alabama and TCU are now considering playing each other Week 1 of the season:

Like Paul said, the matchup is actually a perfect fit because as of now Alabama is currently scheduled to take on USC in Jerry World, while TCU is slated to travel to face California in Berkeley. Obviously, with the assumption California football is not happening in 2020, this would leave TCU and Alabama without a Week 1 opponent.

While both Alabama and TCU ADs are neither confirming nor denying the possibility of talks, it’s hard to believe there has not at minimum been some discussions about the possibility of the two schools matching up Week 1.

As to the actual game itself, no doubt Alabama would come in as heavy favorites. However, don’t count out the Horny Frogs. Because in the five times the schools have face each other, TCU does hold a 3-2 advantage. Not to mention, TCU just landed their first 5 star recruit.

Just kidding, I’ll definitely be taking Bama by 100.
